Oshawa man, 30, charged with 1st-degree murder in double slaying: Cops

A 30-year-old man is accused of first-degree murder after a man and a woman were found dead following a shooting Saturday afternoon in Oshawa.

Durham Regional Police said sounds of gunshots were reported near Rossland Rd. W. and Stevenson Rd. N. at approximately 12:35 p.m.

Police said officers arrived at a home on Glenforest St. and found a 42-year-old man who had been shot and died shortly before being transported to a hospital.

Officers also received information at the scene that led them to a second address on Glenforest, cops said.

Upon entering the residence, officers found a 42-year-old woman who had also been shot. She was pronounced dead by paramedics.

The victims were identified on Sunday as Patrick Montgomery, 42, and Andrieana Montgomery, 42.

Police said Mark Gordon, 30, of Oshawa, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

“The suspect is known to both victims, however the motive behind the murders is still under investigation,” police said. “This is not a domestic-related incident.

“Our thoughts remain with the families who have been impacted by this tragedy and we will provide further information as it becomes available.”
