Man charged after 'edged weapon' assault at Sheppard West Station

A Toronto man has been charged following an assault with an “edged weapon” at the Sheppard West Station in May.

Toronto Police responded to a call on May 27 at 6:12 a.m. for a stabbing at the TTC station formerly known as Downsview Station in North York.

Cops said the victim was walking inside the subway station when, unprovoked, someone allegedly assaulted the victim with what police described as an “edged weapon.”

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, police said Worawut Choeipho, 27, was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon and two counts of breaching probation.
