Peel Regional Police say the four-vehicle collision occurred on Aug. 3 around 7:30 p.m., at Airport Rd. and Clark Blvd. The driver believed to have caused the collision was in a stolen black 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck and fled the scene on foot.
“Although this started with what is seen as a property crime, with a vehicle being stolen, it led to this gravely unfortunate situation that has altered the lives and well-being of a family in our community,” Peel Regional Police Inspector Wendy Sims said in a statement.
“The absolute disregard for the law threatened the life of every person on that road. Our Safer Roads Team is dedicated to proactively address dangerous drivers and repeat offenders in efforts to keep our roads safe.”
