Three people were injured, including a man charged with dangerous driving, after an 11-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Etobicoke.
Toronto Police said they responded to reports of multiple vehicles involved in a collision at about 3:10 p.m. in the Islington Ave.-Lake Shore Blvd. area.
Const. Sinderela Chung confirmed in an email that 11 vehicles were involved in the crash and that an unnamed male driver of a white SUV was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, while also being rushed to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Two other people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash followed an initial hit-and-run call in the area, Duty Insp. Brian Maslowski said, according to CP24. The driver of the other vehicle in the fail-to-remain investigation suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to a hospital, the outlet reported.
A white Jaguar was allegedly seen speeding in the area before the crashes, according to CP24, which said the accused is a 31-year-old male.
Roads were closed in the area, but police said they have since reopened.
