Toronto Police responded to a vehicle fire near Steeles Ave. E. and Gordon Murison Lane — just west of Scarborough Pickering Townline — around 6 a.m. on Saturday.

“Officers located the remains of an unidentified man in a vehicle,” Homicide Det.-Sgt. Stephen Matthews said in a statement.
A post-mortem examination has been conducted and the man’s death now has been ruled a homicide, he said.
Police have not revealed how the man was killed, his identity or any further details.
It is Toronto’s 49th homicide of the year.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area who has dashcam or security camera video to come forward.
Those with information are asked to call the Homicide Unit at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
