The victim and assailant were both on board a train as it arrived at the subway station, Const. Stephanie Miceli said in a statement released Wednesday.
She said the attacker followed the victim off the train onto the platform, then assaulted the 50-year-old man.
“The victim fell off the platform onto the adjacent subway tracks and struck their head,” Miceli said, adding the assailant then “re-boarded the subway car and fled the area on the departing train.”
