A man in his 60s sustained life-threatening injuries after a bizarre incident at an Etobicoke gas station early Monday night.
Toronto Police alleged another motorist was leaving the Shell station around 5:30 p.m. on Burnhamthorpe Rd. — about one kilometre west of Hwy. 427 — with the gas nozzle still attached to his 2003 silver Mercedes-Benz E500.
Police said the gas hose snapped back as the motorist pulled away and struck a man in his 60s, causing him to fall and sustain life-threatening injuries.
Toronto Police spokesperson Ashley Vissar says it’s believed the motorist returned to the scene after the incident.
Ayub Bsis, 26, was charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and careless driving causing bodily harm.
