On the afternoon of April 15, Toronto Police responded to the downtown campus near Gerrard and Yonge Sts. where five people were injured after a vehicle struck three victims sitting on a bench along the pedestrian-only Nelson Mandela Walk.
Cops said at the time that they believed the incident might have been intentional.
The driver fled the area in the vehicle. The suspect was later identified by police as Ryan Petroff.
Police said that two of the injured victims didn’t require medical treatment while two others were transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The fifth victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was identified in the days following the incident.
None of the injured were students or staff at the school.
