Insp. Andy Singh, who spoke to reporters at the scene, said the two men who were arrested are believed to be responsible for multiple robberies in Etobicoke.
There was no immediate word on charges and the suspects names were not released Friday.
Two knives were reportedly recovered.

Ramer and Reid said the officers are both in good spirits.
However, it was lost on no one how close this could have come to an officer being killed in the line of duty.
“What happened here underscores the dangers of policing and illustrates how quickly things can turn deadly,” said Reid.
“Both are going to be okay,” said Ramer. “One of the officers will be treated and sent home and the other one will stay in hospital over night just to be sure there’s no internal damage because of the stab wound.”
The Chief also thank the Toronto paramedics and hospital staff who treated the wounded cops as well as officers from different divisions who responded to the scene.
Ramer also praised the injured officers for making the arrests under difficult circumstances.
“This was great work,” he said. “I am very proud of them, as I am of all of the work our officers do each and every day.”
