Mississauga man faces 9 charges after firearms allegedly seized from home

Peel Regional Police have charged a 39-year-old Mississauga man with mischief and several firearm-related offences.
Cops said they responded to reports of a disturbance June 15 at a residence near Bloor St. and Bridgewood Dr. and allegedly discovered firearms and ammunition that were improperly stored.
Police said further investigation revealed the individual living there was subject to a firearms prohibition and not legally entitled to possess firearms.
Officers seized an SKS semi-automatic rifle with a prohibited magazine and a bolt-action rifle. Police are investigating the weapons’ origins and how they were acquired.

Muamer Spahic has been charged with breach of probation, mischief over $5,000, possession of a prohibited device, possession contrary to an order, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and two counts each of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and careless storage of a firearm.

Cops said that while in police custody, the accused allegedly caused damage to the divisional cell block and fire suppression system and was charged with mischief over $5,000.
