A 34-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with an SUV that was making a left turn at a Whitby intersection Tuesday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police say the crash occurred at Thickson Rd. N. and Dryden Blvd. – south of Taunton Rd. E. – around 4 p.m.
“A Kawasaki motorcycle and Honda SUV were involved in a T-bone collision,” Det.-Const. Brett Rayne said in a statement Wednesday.
He said the motorcycle was southbound on Thickson Rd. when it collided with the SUV, which was northbound on Thickson Rd. and turning left to go westbound on Dryden Blvd.
The motorcyclist, a Whitby man, suffered “serious, life-threatening injuries” and was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre, Rayne said, explaining the SUV driver suffered “minor injuries” and was treated at the scene.
