Motorcyclist faces attempted murder charges in King West Village shooting
A man and a woman, both in their 30s, sustained life-threatening and life-altering injuries

A 32-year-old Toronto man known to police faces four counts of attempted murder and five other charges in connection with a shooting last week in King West Village.
Toronto Police said that a group of friends were walking on Aug. 8 in the King St. W. and Sudbury St. area around 2:40 a.m. when a man speeding on a motorcycle nearly struck them.
Cops said the suspect approached the group and yelled obscenities at them. They attempted to walk away but the suspect waited for them at the end of a laneway, produced a firearm, and opened fire, unprovoked, police said in a release Thursday.
Several rounds were discharged before the man fled westbound on Sudbury St.

Nyim Alexander was arrested Tuesday. In addition to the attempted murder charges, he faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm, occupy motor vehicle with firearm, and possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.
Previously, Alexander was wanted by Toronto Police in 2018 for attempted murder, robbery, mischief under, two counts of failing to comply with recognizance.
