CRIME SCENE: 2nd arrest made after officers allegedly assaulted at rally

Police have made another arrest after officers were allegedly assaulted last month at a downtown demonstration.

According to Toronto Police, officers were at a demonstration on Sept. 11 in the Yonge St.-Front St. E. area, where a group of protesters were gathered outside Meridian Hall.

Police said the group tried to gain entry into the event and were removed by police, while a woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting an officer.

Following the arrest, cops said protesters became confrontational with officers who were working crowd control. During the confrontation, police said one suspect allegedly spat at an officer and another allegedly struck an officer.

Police said protesters then went to a police station at Front and Parliament St., where demonstrators became combative and two people were arrested for allegedly assaulting officers. Police said one suspect also allegedly spat on an officer.

Deijaumar Clarke, 32, of Toronto was arrested on Friday and charged with assaulting a peace officer.

That came after Ghadir Mokahal, 25, of Toronto was arrested on Wednesday and charged with assaulting a peace officer.

Another suspect has not yet been identified.

MOTORCYCLIST IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER CRASH

Toronto Police are investigating a serious collision where a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday at 10 p.m., police were called to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle in the area of Wilson Ave. and Cornelius Pkwy.

Police said a 37-year-old man was driving a white 2020 Toyota Camry northbound on Cornelius and turned westbound onto Wilson.

At the same time, a 39-year-old man was driving a BMW motorcycle eastbound on Wilson.

The two vehicles collided and the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

MAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS STAB WOUNDS: COPS

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a fight between groups led to a stabbing in the Weston neighbourhood, police said.

Toronto Police said on the social-media site X that officers responded to reports of a fight in the Weston Rd.-Coulter Ave. area at about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday night, adding a man was stabbed after a clash between the groups.

Police said the suspects fled in a vehicle, while the victim was transported to hospital via an emergency run.

Roads were closed in the area as a result as the investigation is ongoing.
