Canada’s Wonderland’s latest attraction is on track with its track.
“The final piece is in place! AlpenFury’s track is officially completed and soon it’ll be roaring from the mountain and into park history!” a post on the theme park’s X account said Wednesday.
In announcing the new ride last August, Canada’s Wonderland officials described AlpenFury as “Canada’s longest, tallest and fastest launch coaster.”
The roller-coaster features two launches: One that propels guests into Wonder Mountain and a second that will blast riders 50 metres out of the top.
The coaster will span 1 km across the park and will reach speeds of 115 km/h, flipping and twisting through nine inversions — the most of any launch coaster in North America.
“AlpenFury is a world-class attraction and we’re excited for the unique thrills it will offer our guests,” Wonderland GM Phil Liggett said in a statement last year.
“The combination of being blasted out of Wonder Mountain and then racing through nine inversions, one right after the other, is going to be an experience guests won’t soon forget.”
AlpenFury will be the park’s 19th roller-coaster, the fourth to interact with Wonder Mountain and the signature attraction in Alpenfest, a designated themed area inside the Vaughan park.
Canada’s Wonderland is already open for the season.
