One fatality in Thursday morning apartment fire in Toronto's Little Italy

One person is dead following a Thursday morning fire at a residence apartment above a commercial business at College St. and Manning Ave.

Toronto Police say the blaze started around 10:22 a.m. with Toronto Fire attending.

Cops say one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and two other people were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The area of College St. and Clinton St. was blocked off as fire crews and police worked in the area.
