One man dead, another fighting for his life after Vaughan shooting

One man is dead and another is in hospital after an early morning shooting outside what is believed to be a recording studio in Vaughan.

York regional Police spent the day at the rear of an industrial office complex at 400 Creditstone Rd. — northeast of Hwy. 7 and Jane St. — looking at evidence where the shooting unfolded.

The office complex is shaped like a huge “U” and the shooting that took place around 4 a.m. was in the middle drive of the complex, according to police.

Sgt. Clint Whitney said the deceased is a 39-year-old man and a 27-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Aerial views by the CTV news chopper showed police in the middle of the units checking out a white Mercedes car that was within the crime scene.

At least 10 orange police markers could be scene around the Mercedes and on it hood leading up the passenger side window.

It was taken away from the scene by a covered tow-truck around 2:30 p.m.

“Our homicide unit is investigating this,” said Whitney. “The officers who are investigating this are aware that numerous witnesses, numerous people were in the area, around the time of the shooting,” said Whitney.

It is believed the victims and others were at a recording studio — although there is no listing of a recording studio on the front billboard of the office complex.

More pylons lead away from the car towards a tarp on the ground outside a unit’s back door.

One man who works at a machine shop that repairs and refurbishes train engines said when he got to work Wednesday morning he couldn’t see anything in the middle of the complex other than police officers milling about conducting their investigation.
