Toronto Police Parking Enforcement officers issued more than 3,000 tickets and towed over 200 vehicles during its recent no stopping enforcement blitz.
Working with the City of Toronto, cops targeted drivers stopped in no stopping zones during weekday afternoon peak periods from 3 to 7 p.m. across high-traffic corridors in the downtown core.
This blitz was in response to a City Council directive to Toronto Police and City staff to conduct two no stopping enforcement blitzes in 2025 – one by the end of June, and a second by the end of September.
Drivers who stopped in no stopping zones faced a $190 ticket
Between June 16-20, Toronto Police issued 1,760 tickets and towed 133 vehicles and between June 23-27, cops issued 1,460 tickets and towed 112 vehicles
In total across the two-week campaign, Parking Enforcement officers issued 3,220 tickets, and towed 245 vehicles.
The results of this initiative will be reviewed and assessed to shape future enforcement campaigns.
