“One or more crucial infractions were observed under the Food Premises Regulation that present an immediate health hazard that cannot be corrected during an inspection,” according to Toronto Public Health’s DineSafe website.
Patna Kabab House specializes in Bihari kebab, biryani and curry dishes.
The restaurant received two crucial infractions, two significant violations and two minor ones.
One of its crucial infractions, “Food premise maintained in manner adversely affecting sanitary operation,” resulted in inspectors issuing a summons and health hazard order, pending on Wednesday.

The other crucial infraction (failing to protect food from contamination or adulteration) and the two significant ones (failing to ensure the facility surface was cleaned as necessary, as well as failing to protect against the harbouring of pests) also forced the shutdown.
“A food establishment can only be closed when a health hazard is present,” TPH told the Sun “The crucial and significant infractions are linked to the closure of the food premise.”
The two minor infractions — the premises’ food-handling room was not maintained in sanitary condition, and its equipment surface was not sanitized as necessary — were found as part of the inspection and not directly linked to the eatery’s closure, TPH said.
They added that the restaurant will be reinspected once they have been notified that the establishment has “mitigated the health hazard that resulted in the closure.”
