The single-vehicle crash saw the male adult transported to a local trauma centre where he was initially listed in critical condition before he died from his injuries.
Homicide took over after it was determined he was shot before his car crashed.
Peel Regional Police Const. Richard Chin told reporters at a news conference that shortly before the collision, the victim had been shot in an industrial area near Midway Blvd. and Invader Cres.
“There was some sort of altercation where he was shot,” Chin said. “He attempted to flee the area and consequently ended up crashing.”
No suspect information has been released.
