Oshawa’s Robert Annaert is just over $120,000 richer after winning the Lotto Max second prize in the Feb. 13 draw.

The retired engineer said he’s been a regular lottery player for decades.

“I checked my ticket against the winning numbers and realized I had a whole lot of them matching,” Annaert told OLG.

“I pulled out my phone to scan it on the OLG app and I couldn’t believe what it said. I had to ask my wife to have a look at the ticket. She immediately knew it was a winner, but didn’t believe it!”

His total winnings were $121,717.60 and his plans include doing some travelling.

“It truly is unbelievable,” Annaert told OLG. “I never expected something like this to happen. I see winners announced all the time, but never expected it to be me. This feels good. I feel very lucky and blessed.”

The winning ticket was purchased at a Mac’s store on King St. in Oshawa.
