“In the morning, after finishing my coffee, I checked my tickets using the OLG app on my phone,” Mazzei told OLG.
“When I saw the numbers I’d matched I was frozen with shock, but still managed to scan my ticket and confirm my win. I called out for my wife who was upstairs, saying, ‘We won the lottery!’ She screamed in shock and amazement.”
Mazzei plans to share his windfall with his children, pay off bills and save for retirement.
The winning ticket was bought at a Shoppers Drug Mart on Sandwich St. S. in Amherstburg.

The father of two said he has played a variety of games for nearly 16 years, but is now celebrating his first big win.
“I’d gone to the store to buy my next set of tickets and decided to scan my Lotto 6/49 using the store’s ticket checker,” Rasanathan told OLG.
“When I saw all the zeroes on the screen, I was shocked! I went back to my car and scanned my ticket again, this time using the OLG app on my phone. In disbelief, I video-called my wife and shared the astonishing news. She was overwhelmed and had happy tears streaming down her face.”
The win gives the family man some wiggle room financially.
“Being a winner provides a sense of comfort,” he told OLG. “This win will allow me to pay off bills and buy some special gifts for our children.”

INSTANT WIN PROMPTS FIT OF GIGGLES
Health-care worker Lisa Delle Monache was driven to laughter after becoming $75,000 richer by winning a top prize with Instant Red Hot Cash.
Delle Monache, of Welland, Ont., said most of her lottery tickets are gifted to her.
“I have a friend who buys them for me a couple times a week,” she told OLG. “He knows I like to play instant games and gift-giving is his love language.”
Fast-forward to a Tuesday, when Delle Monache had “met up with some girlfriends for a drink,” she told OLG.
“After I returned home, I got comfy and decided to play my ticket,” she said. “When I realized I’d won the top prize, I couldn’t stop giggling. I shared the good news with my daughter, my sisters and, of course, my friend who bought me the ticket. It still doesn’t feel real.”
“I don’t have any specific plans for my winnings yet, but I’ll definitely be upgrading my upcoming vacation,” she told OLG.
The winning ticket was bought at an Avondale on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls.
