Road rage suspected in vehicle-to-vehicle shooting on Gardiner Expressway

Police said the man’s injury is not life-threatening.

A man in his 20s was wounded by gunfire while driving along a busy downtown Toronto highway early Wednesday in a suspected case of road rage.

Toronto Police say an occupant of one vehicle opened fire on another vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway near Spadina Ave. around 12:30 a.m.

One man suffered a gunshot wound and made his own way to hospital, police said on X.

The victim was reportedly shot in his leg.

Police said the man’s injury is not life-threatening.

The victim’s vehicle was located at the hospital riddled with bullets.

The Gardiner Expressway was shut down for about 30 minutes as police investigated the shooting.

Investigators are looking for a suspect vehicle described as a black Acura with no licence plates.

It’s believed three males were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

No details were immediately available on a possible motive.
