Rusty gun post attracts a lot of attention for Toronto Police

Toronto Police have a particular Twitter account that shows the guns they’ve taken off the streets.

Create Account “That thing is so rusty it would take the holder out with tetanus before harming anyone else with an actual bullet,” posted one wag. A few of the comments were a little more pointed: “Thank you police for keeping Toronto safe from the city’s greatest threats: cyclists riding in parks, people forced to live in tents, and 18th-century buccaneers.” A call to Toronto Police corporate communications suggested officers can see the lighter side of this situation. Const. Sinderela Chung said she had been asked earlier to verify that @TPSGunsSeized was an official Toronto Police Twitter account. “It shows pictures of real guns we’ve seized. It’s always good to get guns off the street,” she said. Chung conceded that, “it is unusual to find one in that condition.” What may be most interesting about the post is how many responses it has received. There are over 21,000 likes and many thousands of retweets and responses.
