Six males charged in Newmarket and Aurora arsons

York Regional Police have charged six suspects and are seeking two in connection with targeted arsons in Newmarket and Aurora.
Cops say on Feb. 6, around 11 p.m., officers responded to a fire at a mechanic shop at George St. and Davis Dr., in Newmarket, where it’s alleged three suspects forced their way in and used an accelerant.
Police say on Feb. 9, around 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a fire at an autobody shop in the area of Edward and Metcalfe Sts., in Aurora, where it’s alleged two suspects broke in and used an accelerant.
Cops believe the two incidents are directly related.
Three adults and two youths were arrested in connection with the arsons after four search warrants were executed at residences in Toronto and a loaded firearm was allegedly recovered.
Humyun Hayat, 30, of Toronto, faces two counts of arson causing damage to property and six firearm-related charges.
Prabjot Singh, 22, of Brampton, faces two counts of arson causing damage to property.
Ahman Ranzor, 19, of Toronto, faces one count each of arson causing damage to property, break-and-enter with intent and wearing a disguise with intent.
A 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, both from Toronto, face one count each of arson causing damage to property, break-and-enter with intent, wearing a disguise with intent and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
At the time of their arrests, both teen boys were on release orders for unrelated offences.
An additional suspect, Danish, 37, of Toronto, has been identified and a warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of arson causing damage to property, and obstruct peace officer.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying one additional outstanding suspect and he and Danish are encouraged to seek legal council and surrender themselves to police.
