The latest arrest marks the sixth suspect charged in connection with the murder of 56-year-old Anita Yuk-Ying Mui, whose body was found on private property near Parry Sound.
Toronto’s Javin Liu, 19, who was arrested Wednesday, faces manslaughter, accessory after the fact, kidnapping, possession of property obtained by crime and conspiracy charges.
Mui’s family reported her missing on Aug. 9, 2024. Her white Mercedes SUV was located later that day in Scarborough near Finch and Warden Aves.
Police later spent time searching a rural property on Vandorf Sideroad in Stouffville, near Kennedy Rd. — which police believed she visited as part of a real estate transaction the day she went missing.

Her burned remains were found three days on a plot of land near Parry Sound.
Three youths were taken into custody in August, accused of using Mui’s credit cards after her disappearance, while Oshawa’s Abid Khugiani, 24, and Oscar Peidi Liang, 19, of Toronto, were also arrested in connection with her death.
A Canada-wide warrant remains in effect for 47-year-old Zhixiong Marko Hu, of Markham. He’s wanted for first-degree murder.
Both police and Canada Border Services Agency officials say Hu fled Canada for Hong Kong shortly after Mui’s death.
