CRIME SCENE: Hit-and-run leaves pedestrian critically hurt

A 49-year-old man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after an early morning hit-and-run in North York.

Toronto Police said they received reports of personal injury collision Sunday at about 1:35 a.m. in the Victoria Park-McNicoll Aves. area.

Police said a vehicle was travelling southbound on Victoria Park, north of McNicoll, while a male pedestrian was in the southbound curb lane. The vehicle hit the pedestrian and then fled.

Police asked anyone with information or video footage to contact investigators at 416-808-1900.

Stabbing victim rushed to hospital

A stabbing victim was rushed to a hospital Saturday night with serious injuries suffered in Toronto’s Cabbagetown area, according to Toronto Police.

Officers found the victim when they descended on the Dundas-Pembroke Sts. area, west of Sherbourne St.,  around 9 p.m.

CP24 reported the man was rushed to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening issues.

Police were reportedly looking for a suspect who was last wearing a black coat, grey sweatpants and black shoes.

Woman dead after crash in Vaughan

An 85-year-old woman from Richmond Hill is dead after a Sunday afternoon crash in Vaughan.

York Regional Police said that officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at about 1:15 p.m. in the Major Mackenzie Dr. W.-Dufferin St. area.

The crash involved an SUV and a sedan, police said, with CP24 reporting that a passenger in one of the vehicles was rushed to Mackenzie Health hospital in Richmond Hill, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the deceased was a passenger in the sedan and that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

Investigators asked anyone with relevant information to call 905-830-0303, ext. 7704.

Cops hunt 3 suspects after Union Station robbery

Three thugs stole jackets from victims during a robbery at Union Station, according to Toronto Police.

Police said officers responded to a call on Saturday just before 8 p.m. in the Front St. W.-Bay St. area after three male suspects, one of whom was armed with an edged weapon, approached two victims and demanded their jackets.

The victims gave up their jackets before the suspects fled from the scene.
