Investigators are seeking help from the public after a smash-and-grab robbery attempt earlier this week in Oakville.
Halton Regional Police say officers responded Wednesday at about 12:40 p.m. to a robbery call at Oakville Jewelry where three people entered the store and one of them held the door while the other two smashed display cases with a hammer.
Employees were able to stop the bandits from taking any jewelry before they fled in a black Nissan Altima, which was later found in the Lakeshore-Trafalgar Rds. area of Oakville and determined to be stolen from Peel Region.
A store employee received minor injuries after being struck on the shoulder with a hammer.
Police said the first suspect is a male with a large build and long black hair, which was possibly a wig. He was carrying a hammer and wearing a black jacket, black pants, black and white runners, and a face covering.
The second suspect is a male with a medium to thin build. He was carrying a black bag and a hammer and was wearing a black hooded winter jacket, black pants, a black and checkered patterned toque, and a face covering.
The third suspect is a female with a thin build who was wearing a black hooded winter jacket, blue jeans, a black shirt, a white winter hat, brown winter boots and a face covering.
Anyone with video footage of the area at the time of the incident or any other information can contact police at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
