OK, the former Blue Jays manager and catcher isn’t exactly on the sides of milk cartons but as Toronto makes a run at the playoffs, Buck Martinez’s presence has been sorely missed.
The pandemic and the mandatory vaccinations that have come with many workplaces – including the Rogers Centre – has resulted in a mixed crew of broadcasters to work games.
Because Martinez isn’t double-vaxxed, he has to work from his Florida home, rather than at the Rogers Centre or a studio at Sportsnet, the network that happens to own the ball club.

The Blue Jays have kept mum about Martinez’s absence – which is a shame. Because you don’t get much better than Buck when it comes to representation of, and love for, the Jays.

Even though it happened over six months ago, we’re still talking about Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Yawn.
No, literally. People are tired of it being mentioned and tired of the royal couple, in general so much so that when a clip from the March sit-down played during Britain’s National TV Awards, the star-studded crowd in attendance showed their true feelings – by loudly booing.
It was music to Piers Morgan’s ears.

A walk down memory lane leading up to the federal election had Sun political bureau chief Antonella Artuso recalling a press release Justin Trudeau issued in November, criticizing Erin O’Toole during a phone conversation about how the Conservatives downplayed COVID-related deaths in Alberta and compared the virus to the flu.
The problem? The release came out before the conversation between Trudeau and O’Toole even happened.
If you’re the daughter of Charlie Sheen, and you come out of it with your head still on straight, that’s considered a victory.
But unlike her dad, Sami Sheen isn’t exactly winning.
The 17-year-old daughter of Sheen and former wife, Denise Richards, took to TikTok to share that she was once “trapped in an abusive household,” but has since moved out and is a two-cat owner and high school dropout.
Richards chalked it up to teen angst, while Sheen’s ready to help Sami with her GED. Yup, sounds about right.

HONOURABLE MENTION: The week’s fifth-place finisher is all about the guidelines the province released for the new vaccine passports. In less than a week, a vaccine receipt and photo ID will be required to access designated facilities. By Oct. 22, an enhanced vaccine passport will be in place.
