Man loses it at Canada’s Wonderland after ride stuck for 40 minutes

Many people get stuck on rides at Canada’s Wonderland. It’s practically a rite of passage.

But one man who was recently left hanging on the Riptide did not have the patience or understanding as some of his fellow riders and let the poor park employees know it as he suffered a major meltdown, Denette Wilford reported.

That meltdown continued off the ride, according to viral video, which showed him throwing bottles of water at the aforementioned ride employees and continuing his rant to park security. In bare feet. While wearing pajama pants. Not a great look, any way you cut it.

Don Cherry’s daughter Cindy remembered as ‘passionate and committed force’

Cindy Cherry, the daughter of Don Cherry, is being remembered as a “wonderful soul” after she died earlier this month. She was 67.

According to her obituary, Cindy died unexpectedly on July 15 at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, while her brother, Tim, confirmed the family’s loss in a Facebook post.

“We’ll all miss our Sunday lunches and chats on the porch,” he wrote. “Time to rest now Cindy, be at peace. Your loving and always grateful brother.”

Cindy was an active volunteer, recently serving as president of Don Cherry’s Pet Rescue Foundation, and Tim said she was a “big part” of The Don Cherry’s Grapevine Podcast.

May she rest in peace.

Transgender athletes sweep podium at women’s cycling championship

We find ourselves with another sporting event where transgender athletes dominated a women’s competition.

In this case, three trans cyclists swept the podium in a women’s race in Washington state, as every medalling team had a trans member on their two-person team, Dan Bilicki reported.

Naturally, fans were upset to see one behemoth of a cyclist standing roughly a foot taller than their teammate on the podium.

The Union Cycliste Internationale, the sport’s governing body, banned transgender athletes who have transitioned after male puberty from competing in international events last year, while USA Cycling also introduced new rules.

However, when it comes to the amateur level, trans athletes only need a “self-identity verification request” — which is reviewed by a USA Cycling Technical Director.

Canadian pitcher torches ex-Blue Jay over infamous arrest during MLB game

Do you remember a game in 2020 when then-Blue Jay Reese McGuire was arrested for indecent exposure for allegedly being caught with his pants down inside his vehicle while parked in a Dollar Tree plaza in Dunedin, Florida?

(If you didn’t know, now you do.)

Well, fast-forward four years later and McGuire, who now catches for the Red Sox, had a little run-in with Rockies pitcher Cal Quantrill.

The two got into it and Quantrill apparently thought it would mess McGuire up to mention his previous parking lot shenanigans.

WHERE’S PAULINA? Gretzky skips Open for St. Tropez fun with pals

Paulina Gretzky is usually never far from hubby Dustin Johnson’s side, but perhaps the Scotland weather was enough to dissuade her from watching the golfer play Royal Troon.

Instead, she opted for glitzy, sunny St. Tropez in the south of France with two of her girlfriends, Brad Hunter reported.

Can you blame her?

At the Open, the 24-time PGA Tour winner made an impressive comeback in the second round but ended the weekend tied for 31st with a score of 6-over.

We think Gretzky made the right call.
