Girlfriend of Raptors top pick steals the show at NBA Draft

South Carolina’s Collin Murray-Boyles may have made headlines after appearing to drop an F-bomb when the Toronto Raptors selected him as their ninth-overall pick, but it was his girlfriend who stole the show at the NBA Draft.

Chloe Kitts is a basketball star in her own right at USC, and she helped the Gamecocks win the NCAA championship in 2023.

But when NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced Murray-Boyles’s name for Toronto, it was Kitts who became an instant sensation online for those not yet aware of her, Dan Bilicki reported.

WARMINGTON: Only in Toronto would swimming pools be closed because it’s too hot

For those who don’t want to relive the scorching temperatures Ontario and Quebec experienced last week, we understand.

But for those who did live through it, especially people in Toronto, you can remember just how much you wanted to cool off — but couldn’t.

Because Torontonians who wanted to dive into any of the city’s outdoor pools were not allowed after they were closed due to it being too hot, Joe Warmington reported.

Mitch Marner’s Maple Leafs breakup: How it got here and where it’s going

After Mitch Marner’s first game as a Maple Leaf, he acknowledged that he needed to work out some jitters and make improvements to be the kind of player he wanted to be — which he eventually did … during the regular season.

Former PM, GAC’s $51K-per-month booze bill tops annual goverment waste awards

Have you got your calculator ready? Okay, start tallying.

Global Affairs Canada’s $51,000-per-month booze bill. A $65,000 phone line to call a river. And a $77,000 provincial government travel junket that resulted in travel ads insisting Saint John was New Brunswick’s capital.

Those are just some of the winners of this year’s Teddy Waste Awards, an annual “celebration” of government waste held by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, Bryan Passifiume reported.

And those were just a drop in the bucket of the “winners.” The runners-up were almost as bad.
