Former Maple Leafs boss Brendan Shanahan’s mansion on sale for mega-millions
If you’ve got about $14 million lying round, do we have a sprawling historical mansion in Toronto for you!
Okay, we don’t, but former Maple Leafs boss Brendan Shanahan does, as the Rosedale estate that he lived in during his time in Toronto is now on the market, listed at $13.95 million.
Ryan Wolstat has all the details of the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom, 11,500 sq.-ft. home, which includes a “huge gourmet kitchen,” “three outstanding family living areas,” “a four-floor elevator” and a “private urban oasis framed by manicured gardens and offering a magnificent pool and spa, along with multiple terraced patios for entertaining.”
There’s also parking for up to nine vehicles on the “extraordinary 80 x 229-foot lot.”
It’s unclear if Shanahan still resides there after a potential role with the New York Islanders didn’t pan out.

CBC hands out record-breaking raises to offset loss of executive bonuses
Mere months after Canada’s national broadcaster announced the end of big-money bonuses for its senior execs, newly-obtained documents suggest CBC handed out a record-setting amount of raises during the previous fiscal year.
In access-to-information documents obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, CBC handed out no bonuses in 2024-25 but awarded $37.7 million in wage hikes to 6,295 employees.
That’s an average of $6,000 per employee, Bryan Passifiume reported, and which CTF Federal Director Franco Terrazzano described as a “sleight of hand” by CBC.
A CBC spokesperson disputed the CTF’s interpretation of the release, stating the raises were given to keep overall compensation at median levels to reflect the elimination of performance pay.
Paige Spiranac stuns in see-through dress at Happy Gilmore 2 premiere
Paige Spiranac may be one of many celebrity cameos in Happy Gilmore 2, but she stole the show at the Netflix movie’s premiere.
The golf influencer showed up to the red green carpet nearly bursting out of a see-through burgundy dress.
In a clip from the movie, she’s seen working at a sporting goods store helping out Sandler’s character.
Spiranac joined stars Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald at the Lincoln Center ahead of the film’s release.
Other notable cameos in the film include golfers Rory Mcllroy, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who reportedly has a scene with pop star-turned-actor Bad Bunny, who plays Happy’s caddie this time around.
Spiranac said in March 2024 that she would love a chance to be in the film.
After the trailer was released, she took to X to write: “The fact that I’m in the Happy Gilmore 2 movie is actually insane lol.”

Christie Brinkley reveals exact moment she learned her husband was cheating with teen girl
Christie Brinkley has revealed the exact, heart-stopping moment she learned after eight years of marriage that her husband was having an affair with a teenage girl.
Let’s repeat that: “A teenage girl.”
It was moments before she was set to speak in public, so the timing wasn’t great, Denette Wilford reported.
The 71-year-old supermodel was also given the shocking news by — wait for it — the father of the girl Brinkley’s now ex, Peter Cook, was cheating with.
The former Sports Illustrated cover girl recounted the heartwrenching story while appearing in Social Life Magazine, and also laid out how it all went down in her memoir, Uptown Girl, which was released earlier this year.
Brinkley and Cook’s eventual split was messy and the two battled in court for six years.
She called it “the most tortured relationship I’ve ever had.”
No kidding.

Ontario man marks third ‘miraculous’ lottery win with biggest jackpot yet
Third time was a charm for a Keswick man who won his third big lottery prize in less than a decade, Wilford reported.
Retiree Neil Carter’s first win came nine years ago, thanks to an Instant Scrabble scratch ticket that scored him a cool $15,000.
His second win was last October when Carter played Lottario and he won more than 20 times his first win at $350,000.
But it was another scratcher that earned the father of three and grandfather of seven $1 million, a win that even he called “miraculous.”
Do you think he’s done or is he going to keep playing?
