Toronto Police say the Holdup Squad launched an investigation into the theft and trafficking of motor vehicles in August 2024.
That probe resulted in a shipping container being intercepted and examined by the Canada Border Services Agency on Sept. 13, 2024.
“Members of the Hold Up Squad liaised with CBSA officers and determined that the six vehicles located inside the container were stolen from Toronto, York Region, Peel Region, Halton Region,” Holdup Unit Insp. Joe Matys said in a statement Wednesday.
