Toronto cop facing new charge after allegedly trying to leave Canada

Toronto Police have laid additional charges against one of their own.
On Saturday, a suspended Toronto Police officer was arrested in Montreal while allegedly trying to leave the country at the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.
On Sunday, Toronto Police charged Const. Boris Borissov, 48, with failing to comply with a recognizance.
Police said Borissov turned himself in to police on June 8, 2023, when he was charged with failing to comply with a release order after previously being charged with theft and fraud.
Police said that on Feb. 17, 2022, a missing person investigation was started and an officer on the case took possession of the missing person’s belongings.
Police said an officer allegedly gave the missing person’s debit card to another person, who used the card to make a purchase. Police also alleged the police officer and the man fraudulently obtained motor vehicles.
Borissov was charged in April 2022 with theft, three counts of breach of trust, trafficking a credit card, using a credit card in the commission of an offence. attempting to obstruct justice, possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized use of a computer system and fraud.
Borissov has been suspended with pay under the Police Services Act.
