Police responded to a call for suspicious activity at Canoe Landing Park, at Fort York Blvd. and Dan Leckie Way, and at Victoria Memorial Square, at Portland and Niagara Sts.
“Investigators are waiting for results of testing to confirm if a poison was used. At the moment, it is only suspected and has not been confirmed that the peanuts are harmful,” Const. Michelle Flannery said Tuesday.
In a social media post, a pet food shop claimed two people had been seen at Victoria Memorial Park and Coronation Park twice in the past couple months “throwing peanut shells with rat poison because they ‘hate dogs’ and are ‘doing gods (sic) work.'”
