It received a conditional pass notice from Toronto Public Health on Friday, the agency reported, due to 11 infractions — three crucial, five significant and three minor — and remains open to the public.

The restaurant passed the three previous times it was inspected.

The three crucial infractions were refrigerating potentially hazardous foods at internal temperatures above 4C, storing potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4C and 60C, and failing to ensure a food handler “refrains from conduct that could result in contamination of food.”

The significant violations found at Irie Flavours were failing to ensure equipment surfaces were cleaned as necessary, not sanitizing multi-service articles after use and failing to protect against the harbouring of pests.

The establishment’s hand-washing stations were also not maintained with soap and paper towels, nor were they conveniently accessible to food-handlers.

The minor infractions were failing to ensure equipment surfaces were sanitized as necessary, not keeping the food-handling room in sanitary condition, and failing to protect against the entry of pests.
