Toronto man, 36, wanted after cops probe east-end assault

A 36-year-old Toronto man is wanted for an assault that allegedly occurred in the city’s east end last weekend.

Toronto Police say officers responded to an assault call in the Danforth-Donlands Aves. area around 10:20 a.m. last Saturday.

“It is alleged that the victim and suspect were engaged in conversation,” Const. Stephanie Miceli said in a statement released Wednesday, adding the suspect allegedly “became angered and assaulted the victim.”

She said the suspect then ran away and was last seen walking west on Sammon Ave. toward Donlands.

Investigators have since identified a suspect and have released his image in the hope that the public can help locate him.

Mason Groskopf is wanted for two counts each of assault and failure to comply with a probation order. He is 6-foot with a thin build and short, wavy red hair.
