Toronto man, 38, accused of luring, sexually assaulting child
Police concerned about possibility of other alleged victims

A 38-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a child he met online while allegedly claiming to be a teenage boy.
Toronto Police said Internet Child Exploitation Section officers executed a search warrant in the area of Dufferin St. and King St. W. on Tuesday and took the accused into custody.
It is alleged that a man “communicated online with a child,” police said in a statement released Wednesday, alleging the man was aware of the child’s age and portrayed himself as 17 years old.
Police said the man allegedly “met up with” and “sexually assaulted” the child. Police believe the man used the Snapchat app to communicate with the child, allegedly under the usernames “savag3love666” and “ydk.lov33.”
Investigators subsequently identified and arrested a suspect.
Fathi Rashid, of Toronto, is charged with luring a child, sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age and failure to comply with a release order.
Rashid was previously accused in October 2015 of sexually assaulting young teenage girls he met in front of west-end schools and online.
Then 29, he was charged at that time with four counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual interference, four counts of criminal harassment and one count of invitation to sexual touching.

The Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General the Toronto Sun the accused was previously convicted of one of the charges stemming from the 2015 allegations.
On June 17, 2019, Rashid was found guilty on one count of sexual assault but the remaining charges were stayed at that time.
He was sentenced to 14 months jail and two years probation on Sept. 10, 2019.
Investigators have once again released an image of the accused because they are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims.
