Two girls in hospital after hit by SUV in Ajax

Two young girls were seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Ajax.
On Friday at 6:05 p.m., Durham Regional Police were called to a collision involving a vehicle and two young pedestrians on Williamson Dr. just west of Seggar Ave.

A grey Honda SUV was driving westbound on Williamson Dr. when it struck the girls who were crossing the roadway.
A 9-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl were seriously injured and taken to a Toronto trauma centre.
The 44-year-old male driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. He was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
