Toronto Police say the child was attacked by the dogs – a terrifying incident that was caught on video – outside of an apartment building at 1375 Midland Ave., south of Lawrence Ave. E., around 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
“It is alleged that a woman and her daughter were walking in the area (when) they were attacked by two guard dogs that had escaped from a business nearby,” Const. Sinderela Chung said in a statement released Saturday.
“The victims were transported to hospital for medical attention,” she added.
It’s unclear what injuries the mother suffered, but the little girl was seriously hurt and needed 20 stitches to close her wounds.
