In one case, Toronto Police allege Kristan Peter Miller, 26, forced a teenage girl into the sex trade, using fear and intimidation — and the sight of a gun — to control her.
The Brampton man, who faces 13 charges, is accused of trafficking the 17-year-old throughout the GTA, controlling her actions and forcing her to hand over anymoney she earned.
Members of the Sex Crimes Human Trafficking Enforcement Team — with help from ETF and Peel Regional Police officers — executed a search warrant in Peel Region on Dec. 28, Const. Caroline de Kloet said in a statement released Saturday.
Miller was arrested and charged with offences that include trafficking and procuring a person under 18, forcible confinement, possession of a firearm and uttering death threats.

In a separate investigation, de Kloet said a man and a woman were arrested for forcing another 17-year-old girl into the sex trade.
She said the teen was allegedly held against her will, threatened with the sight of a gun and forced to provide sexual services for money in various hotels and condos across the city.
The girl was able to escape with the help of her family, de Kloet said.
