Two people sought after Stoney Creek neighbourhood shooting

Two suspects are at large after a Stoney Creek neighbourhood was shot up Saturday night.

Hamilton Police say no one was injured in the 9:50 p.m. shooting which happened near the waterfront in the area of Glover Rd. and Lakeshore Dr.

“Investigators have collected surveillance video from the area, however, they are requesting residents or anyone driving in the area of Glover Rd., Lakeshore Dr. and Watershore Dr. area of Stoney Creek during that timeframe to check their surveillance video and dashcam footage for any video that may assist the investigation,” police said in a statement released Wednesday.

Video footage released by investigators, in an effort to identify those involved, shows a car stopping at the end of a driveway and someone jumping out of the backseat on the driver’s side.

The shooter takes half a dozen steps up the driveway, fires six shots from a handgun in quick succession before hopping back into the vehicle, which has an accomplice behind the wheel. The vehicle drives off.

“Investigators are seeking two unknown suspects, dressed in all dark clothing,” police said.

The vehicle used in the shooting is believed to be, or similar to, a 2018-2020 black or dark Acura TLX.

“The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, however, we do believe that this was a targeted shooting,” police said.
