The accused allegedly attempted to pull the victim off the streetcar, but the second victim, a man in his 60s, tried to intervene and both were stabbed.
Cops said both victims were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and the accused was arrested a short time later.
Patrick St. Dennis also faces two counts each of assault, assault with a weapon, failure to comply with a release order and breach of probation and one count each of theft under $5,000, uttering threats, assault cause bodily harm and possession of a weapon.
TTC chief executive Mandeep Lali said they were aware of the incident, which occurred on the 506 Carlton streetcar, adding the safety of “everyone on our system is paramount.
