Const. Edward Parks, 54, was charged Sunday with being unlawfully in a dwelling, theft over $5,000 and assault, Toronto Police spokesperson Stephanie Sayer said in a news release.
“Const. Parks, last assigned to corporate communications, has 15 years of service and is suspended with pay, as per the Police Services Act,” Sayer said.
Police said that a man and a woman were involved in a landlord-tenant dispute on Dec. 6, when the man allegedly entered a dwelling unlawfully and assaulted the woman. Property worth more than $5,000 was also allegedly stolen, according to police.
No other details were offered.
