Victim in deadly North York double stabbing identified

Investigators have identified a 53-year-old man as the victim killed in last weekend’s double stabbing in North York.

Toronto Police responded to the area of Wilson Ave. and Beverly Hills Dr. area shortly after noon last Sunday and found two men suffering from stab wounds.

A 51-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the other man was likewise taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Friday night, police identified Roger Borges, of Toronto, as the city’s 17th murder victim of the year.

A 72-year-old man was arrested at the stabbing scene.

Jose Diaz, of Toronto, is charged with attempted murder and first-degree murder.
