Video captures BMW arson in Vaughan plaza lot

York Regional Police are appealing for information after video captured a BMW being set ablaze in Vaughan last month.
On April 5 shortly before 2 a.m., cops arrived at a vehicle fire in a plaza parking lot near Steeles Ave. W. and Yonge St.

Surveillance footage released by police on Friday shows a white Honda Odyssey entering the parking lot and circling the area before stopping near the BMW.
A person leaves the passenger side of the Honda, pours an accelerant onto the parked BMW, and sets it on fire before fleeing back to the Odyssey.
Once the blaze was extinguished, police identified the vehicle as a black 2023 BMW M4 and notified its owner.
