Video released in hunt for dump truck arsonist in Vaughan

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses after six dump trucks were damaged by fire in Vaughan on Canada Day.

Officers responded to an industrial yard in the area of Highway 27 and Highway 407 on July 1 around 11:50 p.m. and found six dump trucks engulfed in flames.

Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services put out the fire and no injuries were reported.

Surveillance video shows one suspect in the yard approach the vehicles, pour a flammable liquid around them, and ignite the fires.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.

Investigators would also like to speak to with anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area around the time of the incident.
