York Regional Police are seeking at least three suspects and appealing for witnesses following an arson that was captured on video at a vehicle storage lot in Markham.
Cops were called around noon Monday to the lot in the area of Heritage and McCowan Rds. and learned the blaze was started around 3 a.m. but had extinguished on its own.
Video surveillance shows a dark, four-door sedan arrive with two dark-clothes-wearing occupants exiting and pouring what appears to be an accelerant on numerous vehicles and igniting it.
They then re-enter the vehicle — driven by a third suspect — and flee.
Police say 13 vehicles in the lot were heavily damaged but there were no injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423. ext. 7541.
