It now happens in the middle of the day or when people are commuting home in the evening at Go Stations, on the highways, on residential streets or outside of condos — and in one case, a cemetery.
When police got there, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a flipped-over car.

Two other men in the car fled and an innocent man who was struck by the flipped-over car found he was thrust into something that had nothing to do with him.
The 20-year-old man who was shot “was taken to a trauma centre,” said Wright.
As police dug into it, officers determined this all started at the Creditview Go Station on Burnhamthorpe Rd.
There were three cars that congregated there, explained Wright.
There was a “dispute” and one shot was fired from one vehicle into another.
From there, everybody fled and it is speculated the driver of the car that flipped over was looking for a hospital to deal with their shot friend. The other two in the car were later located, arrested and released with no charges.
The other two cars, and the occupants, are unknown. Police are investigating.

Since no one was killed, you may not have heard of this case. Or even the carjacking from Sunday afternoon.
This victim of the carjacking case was one of those vulnerable pizza delivery guys.
“We received the call at 3:10 p.m,” Wright, who has worked in homicide, told me. “The victim is employed at a pizza shop on Queen St. in Brampton” and was “delivering an order to an address on Norfolk Ave.”
Strangely, the 46-year-old victim was “contacted and redirected to a second address on Norfolk” when “at the new address, he was approached by three males, one with a gun.”
They let the pizza guy go, but kept his Mercedes which has not yet been located. Police are investigating.
The carjackers are at large — along with many other shooters. It’s an abomination that Peel has become so dangerous.
Innocent people have been shot or killed on the highway just because of the make of their car and there are frequent robberies of banks and stores.
The bottom line is while you have some engaging in the stupid conversations about defunding the police, law-abiding people are getting caught up in this crazy, violent lawlessness.
Guns, robberies and murder are now commonplace. And just like that, you could find yourself right in the middle of a crime — perhaps even wounded or killed.
