WARMINGTON: Child and caregiver held at gunpoint during Mississauga home invasion

You know a community is at risk when two people posing as service workers smash their way into a home and hold a small child and caregiver captive at gunpoint.
“Two suspects, posing as local service employees, knocked on the front door” of a home in Mississauga’s upscale Mississauga-Lorne Park Rds. area on Nov. 18, according to Peel Regional Police.

When “the victim answered,” the gun-toting bandits forced their way into the home and demanded valuables. The caregiver was “bound and confined for the duration of the robbery until it was interrupted by a neighbour.”
While they were shaken up, neither the adult nor the child sustained serious injuries.
After the home invaders scurried away in a car driven by a third accomplice, police said officers quickly identified two suspects and “moved swiftly to apprehend them.”
The first, Zain-Alaben Al-Khaleby, 29, of Toronto, was located Nov. 21 “in a federal parole facility in Toronto” while the second, El Farough Salih, 27, of Mississauga, was arrested the same day in Mississauga.
“During the execution of three search warrants, police also located and seized offence-related property, stolen property, and narcotics,” alleged police.
“This is more evidence from our team that this will not be tolerated in Peel,” said Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich.
The first, Zain-Alaben Al-Khaleby, 29, of Toronto, was located Nov. 21 “in a federal parole facility in Toronto,” said police. A second, El Farough Salih, 27, of Mississauga, was arrested the same day in Mississauga.

“This is more evidence from our team that this will not be tolerated in Peel,” said Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich.
“Once again, our investigators have arrested two offenders for their alleged involvement in violent crime. Both accused were on judicial interim releases for robbery and firearm offences, showing a complete disregard for their court-appointed conditions or our community.”
It’s good that they were caught, but in revolving door justice, the courts just let people out, and it becomes a catch and release system.
You will have to forgive Lorne Park neighbourhood groups for being skeptical. They say since Sept. 1, there have been 24 break and enters in their area.
“Break ins are occurring during all hours of the day on streets such as Saginaw, Crestdale, Lorne Wood, Narva, Caldwell, Glenhill, Birchwood Woodeden, Kane and others,” said a neighbourhood newsletter that advertises a Dec. 10 community safety meeting with Peel Police at the St. Bride’s Anglican Church, on Clarkson Rd. N., at 6:30 p.m.
Al-Khaleby has been charged with robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent, two counts of possession of an opioid and with three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order.
“At the time of his arrest, Al-Khaleby was an inmate on statutory release living in a federal parole facility in Toronto, serving the remainder of his four-year sentence following convictions for firearms and robbery-related charges” and “bound by three separate weapons prohibition orders with conditions not to possess any weapons.”
Another alleged parole failure.
El Farough Salih, meanwhile, is charged with robbery with a firearm, three counts of failing to comply with a release order, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
“At the time of his arrest, Salih was bound by a release order in relation to several drug and firearms-related charges. Part of his release conditions required that Salih was subject to GPS monitoring,” said police.
The charges against both accused have not been tested in court. Both are innocent until proven guilty and will receive new bail hearings.
They’re currently behind bars — for now.
