WARMINGTON: Cops say nothing criminal about male school bus driver in pink skirt

It was an odd sight like something out of a bizarre movie.

Seeing a male school bus driver dressed in a pink skirt with a short cut, frilly blouse, pink shoes and a wig sure looked strange to parents who witnessed it. So, in the interest of protecting kids, they pulled out their cellphones and recorded video.

If this man was hanging around a playground or schoolyard, it would certainly warrant curiosity and scrutiny.

However, since it appears to be an employed school bus driver, a wall of bureaucratic red tape and the usual fear of woke politics can always be counted on to deflect.

And while the parents in Woodbridge may have found the bus driver’s outfit odd, police say there was nothing criminal about the man’s choice of attire.

And society is set up in a way that people are not allowed to hurt this person’s feelings by raising the issue. The person wearing such an outfit around kids trumps anyone’s desire to learn why he was dressed this way.

You can understand why parents would be concerned.

If it was a movie, a man dressed up as a young girl while driving a school bus he had dubbed the “Lolita Line” – possibly a reference to the nickname given to child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet the “Lolita Express” – may well terrify audiences. However, in 2025, in the Greater Toronto area, it merely gets a shrug of the shoulders.

Weird is normalized now. And many of the systems set up to keep weird out of the schools, and away from children, seem to have been captured by the woke virus that protects the bizarre and shuns those asking legitimate questions.

We saw that with the Kayla Lemieux story where a male teacher was in class wearing huge prosthetic breasts, a wig and women’s attire but there was very little the system could do about it. A person dressing up in an alter ego fetish character calls all the shots in Ontario.

In this case, outside of St. Michael Archangel Catholic Elementary School in York Region, it was parents asking these questions: Why is the male bus driver wearing a pink skirt, a woman’s blouse and pink shoes? Why does the bus have a sign that says, “Lolita’s Line?” Who is this person behind the wheel?

But the person at the centre of this merely drove away.

The Toronto Sun spoke to Lemieux during that soap opera and is willing to hear out this bus driver as well if he would like to contact us. Many would be all ears to find out what he was thinking and understand his motives.

In the video captured by concerned parents, the man is seen dressed up as what appears to be an outfit from Japanese amine. In the front window of the bus is a sign that reads: “The Lolita’s line.” It’s a red flag when you consider Epstein’s airplane was referred to as the Lolita Express – a disturbing moniker to model after the 1955 Vladimir Nabokov novel called Lolita about a man sexually violating a 12-year-old girl, which was referenced in the 1980 song Don’t Stand So Close To Me by The Police.

No parent watching their child board a school bus should have to endure something like this. Before social media, the public may never even have heard about it. But is exposing this on X, Instagram, Facebook and Reddit enough? Or should there be more investigation into what this was really all about? And if so, who should investigate it?

So far, the male school bus driver who was wearing this getup remains a mystery. It’s still not clear who he is or if he is still driving a bus for Landmark Bus Lines? Is the Lolita’s Line yellow school bus still operating?

Here’s what we do know.

York Regional Police are aware of the video but say it “doesn’t appear to be a criminal matter” since they “haven’t received any complaints about the individual mentioned, and there’s no investigation underway.”

Of course, this does not mean police wouldn’t investigate if they got a complaint. But for now it’s just a video posted on social media.

“Since this involves a school bus and does not appear to be a criminal matter, it might be best to follow up with the school bus company directly for more information,” police suggested.

Landmark, so far, has not returned a request for comment on this matter. They have not said if they have suspended, fired, retained or reassigned the driver.

Meanwhile, York Catholic District School Board says it “is aware of a social media video filmed at St. Michael the Archangel CES” and “the YCDSB followed all of its child protection procedures after this incident.”

Board spokesperson Mark Brosens said since “third-party companies provide school busing in Ontario,” YCDSB staff “immediately brought this matter to the bus driver’s employer.”

Brosens said “the company quickly addressed this situation with its employee and the driver will no longer provide busing to and from the school. The company has assured the YCDSB that this would not be an issue at any YCDSB school going forward.”

That will be a relief to parents, but it’s still not clear who this driver is, his status and why he was wearing this costume.
